My mum died 5 years ago in a car accident the guy who was in the other car and caused it was drunk. He’s now paralyzed from waist down.

Just one, a Buddy of mine. His Wife, 23yo, was killed by a Drunk Driver while she was driving home from work.
He is left with raising a set of 3yo. Twins!

One. My bff’s 21 year old brother died 25 years ago in a drunk driving accident. Her parents have never been the same since. It was soooooo very sad. I didn’t think it was possible to cry that much.

My cousin is currently facing many years in prison for intoxicated vehicular homicide.

A high school aquaintence of mine had several DUI’s already, was still allowed to drive with a breath-interlock device on his car. He bought another car to avoid the interlock, specifically a car for going out drinking . He got into a collision and killed a doctor who was a well known international humanitarian. I think he was in prison for ten years before getting out.

My life was affected. When I was 17, the car that I was a passenger in, was rear ended by a drunk driver and I was in a coma for 3 days. The girl driving the car I was in is now a paraplegic and the back seat passenger died instantly.
I will be forever haunted.

My nephew was killed by a drunk driver . He was the back seat passenger and when they hit the tree he flew through the windshield. No one in my family will ever be the same. My sister has changed so much [ he was her son] I miss my sister. It’s like that drunk took her also !

No one personally, but like one month ago, there was a terrible accident here.
First of all, there’s a curfew, bars and restaurants should be closed at 3 am and there are watch posts everywhere to verify if drivers are drunk or not, if they’re drunk, they’re sent to jail for 36 hours, but it’s not a common jail, they can watch tv, receive their families and attend a AA meeting.
Last month, the police stopped a driver (27 y/o) and he was really drunk and tried to escape so he wont go to jail. The stupid guy ran over an officer and crashed into a statue which fell down and killed the cop. He tried to avoid 36 hours in jail and now is facing at least 67 years…
What the government wants is to create a case law with him.
