Drinking and driving is one of my favorite hobbies, really tests your luck and makes you feel invincible.

Try to find other youths who have had friends or family hurt or killed by drunk drivers. Come together and arrange for your school to let you all testify. Maybe the true accounts of the senseless injuries , disabilities and death might prevent some of your peers from trying alcohol at all. Research the damage it does to the body. The stats on deaths by drunk drivers. And so on. I'm a recovered alcoholic. Sober through God's grace. I now have a permanent nerve problem due to years of use. I've had family injuried, recently an ex-wife who may be crippled for the rest of her life at 46 yrs. old.. Good luck. I'll pray for God to guide you and open the doors you need

open meetings (not closed meetings) Ala-Teen—-for some
ideas and support, Alcoholics Annoymous members, will speak at your school if your school allows it. It is in your phone book, or should be. Good luck, God bless, A very thoughtful goal, Get others interested in such, there are power in numbers.

see if you can help start a chapter of M.A.D.D. or S.A.D.D. you may need to look them up in the phone book…but they are really great groups and are constantly in the need of volunteers to spread the word against Drunk Driving.

Good for you…that makes me hopeful that the next generation may be headed in the right direction!

I just had a neighbor (17) years old that caused a drunk driving accident and totalled out 2 vehicles. He was the one that was drunk and had a 16 year old drunk friend in the truck with him. He had just bought his truck the previous week.

I was hit by a drunk driver in 1991 and was seriously injured. The guy was driving on a suspended license (for DWI) and did not have any insurance. He did not spend 1 day in jail!

I also think our justice system needs some looking into for these types of offenses…as they should not be able to reduce them to a non-moving violation.

You have hit on a topic that could lead me on for hours and hours…but I will spare you the rest of my soapbox!

Thank you for being scared enough to want to do something about it and I hope that you can attract all of your friends and family to join you in your fight!
